Saturday proved to be a dull day at the box office for Vijay Deverakonda’s Pan-India film debut, Liger. Early estimations reveal that the total collection of the movie has now reached Rs. 10.25 crores, as it saw a slight growth with earnings of between Rs. 4.10 and Rs 4.50 crores on this particular day. It is important to note that prior to this, the film had made Rs 1.25 crores through paid previews, followed by Rs 4.50 crores on its opening Friday. Movie viewership is heavily influenced by both the youth and the masses. Unfortunately, the less-than-positive reactions from viewers…
Fakt Mahilao Maate, a Gujarati film, has been faring quite well at the box office. After it was released on Janmashtami and being shown in 300 properties with 1300 daily screenings, the movie garnered a huge 1.34 cr. on its opening day itself. And over the following weekend, there was an even greater number of patrons patronizing this flick! Drawing an impressive Rs. 4.66 cr. over its opening weekend, Fakt Mahilao Maate sustained itself by hovering in the range of Rs. 42-50 lakhs during weekdays, enabling it to accrue another Rs. 1.91 cr., eventually amounting to a total of Rs.…
Liger Overseas Box Office: Vijay Deverakonda film drops further on Day 3 at the Australia box office
Liger, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Pandey, premiered on Friday, but it hasn’t been well-received by the audience despite its intensive promotion. Similarly, at the box office Liger has had a turbulent time; some areas have shown progress with daily growth in profits whereas other regions have observed a gradual decline. With this report, we are assessing the success of Liger in Australia and New Zealand. Unfortunately, its second day takings saw a decrease of 61%. Surprisingly though, it did accumulate an impressive USD 15,156 [Rs. 12.12 lakhs] from just 55 screens on Saturday. Unsurprisingly however, this revenue took yet…
Vijay Deverakonda’s movie ‘Liger’ witnessed another significant decline in collections on Saturday at the South Indian box office. After its initial collection of Rs. 17 crores, the film took a hit of more than 75% and collected only Rs. 4.25 crores on Friday and has now declined by 30% further with estimates suggesting its third-day earning to be around Rs. 3.25 crores taking the gross total of Liger in South India to Rs 24.50 crores. The South Indian rights were sold for a sum of Rs 70 crore, out of which 60 crore was taken up by Telugu states alone.…
Liger [Hindi] had a fairly average day on Saturday; the turnout was decreased but only to a small degree, generating a box office revenue of 4.25 crores*. Although this figure wasn’t necessarily predicted prior to its release, the steady climb of success experienced by the Telugu version gave way to this slight decrease in attendance. After collecting Rs. 10 crores (including a paid preview of Rs. 1.25 crores), the Vijay Deverakonda starrer action film has not achieved the ideal collections of Rs. 12 crores that it required in order to take a chance at earning around Rs. 40-50 crores in…
Karan Johar, Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur teamed up to produce the movie Liger which released in theatres on August 25th. Charmme recently discussed her views on the success of films at the box office. She suggested that given the surplus of accessible content for viewers, film creators should strive to make motion pictures that attract them enough to visit cinemas. To illustrate her point she highlighted how movies like Kartikeya 2, Sita Ramam, and Bimbisara achieved commercial success. While discussing this with the Free Press Journal, Charmme Kaur commented, “With the click of a button, families can enjoy top-of-the-line…
Last week, the much-anticipated Vijay Deverakonda – Ananya Panday collaboration ‘Liger’ made its release, though it was received with tepid response from audiences. To everyone’s disappointment, even in the Telugu territories where it had great expectations for huge profits, the movie has failed to show promise at the domestic box office. Surprisingly, despite all this it has performed reasonably well in overseas markets. On its opening weekend in the U.S.A alone, Liger had raked in USD 7,02,046 [Rs. 5.62 cr.] at the box office, setting the stage for a fruitful international run. It enjoyed a phenomenal response in markets such…
Sunday was a day of disappointment for Liger [Hindi], as it saw its collections drop to Rs. 3.75 crores* compared to the previous days figure of Rs. 4.50 crores. While the amount didn’t differ from Saturday, usually this would be followed by an increase on Monday; however, the pandemic has disrupted the typical box office dynamics and thus resulted in a decline instead of growth. Of course, the T20 match between India and Pakistan on Thursday evening had a major influence on box office collections for the movie. Nonetheless, morning and afternoon showings weren’t particularly impressive either. In three days,…
After performing below-average at the box office, Liger is quickly being removed from South Indian cinemas. Most shows on Monday have been cancelled across Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka, with similar low turnouts in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It appears that the movie has failed to draw in any meaningful audience numbers. As per initial forecasts, the film registered a net sum of Lakhs on Monday and had accumulated nearly one crore gross from the Southern region. After its four-day showing, it acquired an approximate gross revenue of Rs. 26.50 crores, reaching a total of Rs. 27.50 crores by the…
Thursday, August 11th was the big day as Laal Singh Chaddha, starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, finally released. Much anticipated and extensively marketed, this film promised to be a massive success in the box office; though domestic viewership was on the more moderate side, overseas figures soared. In this box office report, we dive into the overseas collections of Laal Singh Chaddha. Unsurprisingly, North America comes out on top with an impressive Rs. 22.82 cr. Close behind in second and third place are the United Kingdom and Australia respectively – contributing Rs. 6.64 cr. and Rs. 6.41 cr…
