भीमाशंकर ज्योतिर्लिंग कहाँ है?
भीमाशंकर ज्योतिर्लिंग महाराष्ट्र के भोरगिरि गांव खेड़ से करीब 50 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर और उत्तर-पश्चिम पुणे से 110 कि.मि की दूरी पर पश्चिमी घाट के सह्याद्रि पर्वत पर अवस्थित है। इस ज्योतिर्लिंग को मोटेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंग के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। बता दें कि इसी स्थान से भीमा नामक नदी भी बहती है।

श्री भीमाशंकर ज्योतिर्लिंग मंदिर भगवान शिव के उन सुप्रसिद्ध द्वादश ज्योतिर्लिंगों में शामिल है जिनमें पूरे ब्रह्मांड की शक्ति का वास माना जाता है। शैव परंपरा से संबंध रखने वालों और भोले के भक्तों के लिए यह स्थान बहुत महत्वूर्ण है जिनके दर्शन किए बिना भक्तों को तृप्ति नहीं मिलती है।
भीमाशंकर मंदिर का निर्माण किसने करवाया?
भीमाशंकर या मोटेश्वर के नाम से लोकप्रिय इस मंदिर का निर्माण मराठा साम्राज्य के छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज ने करवाया था। फिर 18वीं शताब्दी में नाना फडणवीस ने इसके शिखर का निर्माण करवाया। इतिहास के पन्नों में इस बात का उल्लेख मिलता है कि शिवाजी महाराज ने यहाँ भक्तों को दर्शन के लिए कई प्रकार की सुख-सुविधाएं भी मुहैया करवाईं थीं।

भीमाशंकर मंदिर स्थापत्य कला
भीमाशंकर मंदिर की वास्तुकला नागर शैली पर आधारित है। इस भव्य मंदिर से प्राचीन विश्वकर्मा वास्तुशिल्पियों के कौशल का ज्ञान हमें प्राप्त होता है। यहाँ पर 18 वीं सदी में नाना फडणवीस द्वारा बनवाया गया एक घंटा आज तक भक्तों के आकर्षण का केंद्र बना हुआ है।
भीमाशंकर ज्योतिर्लिंग की पौराणिक कथा
शिव पुराण के अनुसार भीम नाम का राक्षस अपनी माता के साथ अकेला जंगल में रहता था। जब वह बड़ा हुआ तब उसने अपनी माता से पूछा कि उसके पिता कौन और कहां है। तब उसकी माता कर्कटी बताया कि तुम्हारे पिता का नाम महाबली कुंभकरण है जिसका वध श्री राम ने किया।

कुंभकरण के मृत्यु के बाद कर्कटी ने दोबारा विराध नामक राक्षस से विवाह किया और विराध नामक राक्षस का वध भी भगवान श्रीराम ने किया। इसके बाद उसकी माता कर्कटी अपने माता पिता के साथ रहने लगी उसके माता-पिता ने अगस्त्य मुनि के एक शिष्य को अपना आहार बनाना चाहा अगस्त्यमुनि उन्हें वही भस्म कर दिया।
उनकी मृत्यु के बाद वह भीमा को लेकर जंगल में रहने लगी जब भीमा को अपने माता द्वारा अपने पिता और परिवार जनों के मृत्यु का कारण पता चला। तब वह बहुत क्रोधित हुआ और फिर वह श्री राम का वध करने का निश्चय किया और ब्रह्मा जी का 1000 वर्षों तक कठोर तपस्या की, भीमा की कठोर तपस्या से ब्रह्मा जी खुश होकर प्रकट हुए और वरदान मांगने को कहा तब भीमा ने विजय होने का वरदान मांगा।

वरदान पाते ही भीमा ने देवताओं पर भी अत्याचार करना शुरू किया और सभी को हराना शुरू किया देव लोक के साथ-साथ उसने पृथ्वी पर भी अत्याचार करना शुरू किया। कामरूप के जिले राजा भगवान शिव के अनन्य भक्त थे राक्षस भीम ने राजा को भी बंदी बना लिया और कारागार में डाल दिया कामरूपेस्वर राजा को शिवलिंग की पूजा करते देख राक्षस भीम क्रोधित हुआ और तलवार से राजा के बनाए शिवलिंग को तोड़ने का प्रयास किया।
ऐसा करने पर शिवलिंग से स्वयं भगवान शिव प्रकट हुए उसके बाद राक्षस भीम और भगवान शिव के बीच भयानक युद्ध हुआ। जिसमें राक्षस भीम की मृत्यु हुई फिर सभी देवताओं ने भगवान शिव से प्रार्थना किया उसी स्थान पर हमेशा के लिए शिवलिंग के रूप में विराजमान हो।

भगवान शिव आग्रह स्वीकार करके उसी स्थान पर शिवलिंग के रूप में विराजमान हुए। इस शिवलिंग की स्थापना देवता गण पूजा अर्चना और जलाभिषेक द्वारा किए थे। इस स्थान पर भीम से युद्ध करने की वजह से इस ज्योतिर्लिंग का नाम भीमाशंकर ज्योतिर्लिंग नाम पड़ा।
भीमाशंकर प्रसिद्ध क्यों है?
भीमाशंकर मंदिर अपनी वास्तुकला और पौराणिक महत्व के लिए अत्यधिक प्रसिद्ध माना जाता है। यहाँ के आस-पास कई कुंड मौजूद है जिन्हें मोक्ष कुंड, कुशारण्य कुंड, सर्वतीर्थ कुंड, ज्ञान कुंड के नाम से जाना जाता है। इनमें से मोक्ष कुंड का संबंध महर्षि कौशिक से है।
वहीँ कुशारण्य कुंड की बात करें तो इसका उद्गम भीमा नदी से हुआ है। इन कुंडों की विशेषता यह है कि इनमें स्नान करने से मोक्ष की प्राप्ति होती है भीमाशंकर नदी की स्थापना से पहले ही यहाँ पर माता पार्वती का एक सुप्रसिद्ध था जो कमलजा मंदिर के नाम से लोकप्रिय है।

शिव पुराण के अनुसार सूर्योदय के बाद जो भी यहां सच्ची श्रद्धा से पूजा अर्चना करता है उसे उसके सभी पापों से मुक्ति मिलती है।
सावन के महीने में इस स्थान पर भक्तों की भारी संख्या में भीड़ लगती है इस मंदिर के बगल में एक नदी है जिसे भीमा नदी कहते हैं।
भीम ने ब्रह्मा जी को प्रसन करने के लिए 1000 वर्षों तक सह्मादी पर्वत पर तब किया था।
ऐसा माना जाता है कि राक्षस भीम और भगवान शिव की लड़ाई के बाद भगवान शिव के शरीर से निकले पसीने के एक बूंद से भीमा रथी नदी का निर्माण हुआ है।
यहां पहाड़ियों के आसपास में जंगली वनस्पतियां एवं प्राणियों की दुर्लभ प्रजातियां पाई जाती हैं।
इस मंदिर के पास ही एक कमलजा मंदिर भी है जो की बहुत ही प्रसिद्ध मंदिर माना गया है क्योंकि कमलजा माता पार्वती का अवतार है।

Where is Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga?
Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga is located on the Sahyadri Mountains of the Western Ghats at a distance of about 50 km from Bhorgiri village Khed in Maharashtra and 110 km north-west of Pune. Legend of Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga
According to Shiva Purana, a demon named Bhima lived alone in the forest with his mother. When he grew up, he asked his mother who and where his father was. Then his mother Karkati told that your father’s name is Mahabali Kumbhkaran who was killed by Shri Ram.

After the death of Kumbhkaran, Karkati again married a demon named Viradha and the demon named Viradha was also killed by Lord Rama. After this, his mother Karkati started living with his parents. His parents wanted a disciple of Agastya Muni to be their food, Agastyamuni reduced him to ashes.
After his death she took Bhima to live in the forest when Bhima came to know about the death of his father and family members from his mother. Then he became very angry and then he decided to kill Shri Ram and did severe penance to Brahma for 1000 years, pleased with Bhima’s severe penance, Brahma appeared and asked for a boon, then Bhima granted the boon of victory. sought.

As soon as he got the boon, Bhima started torturing the gods as well and started defeating everyone. Along with the Dev Lok, he started torturing the earth as well. The district king of Kamrup was an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. Rakshasa Bhima captured the king as well and put him in prison. Rakshasa Bhima got angry seeing the king of Kamrupeswara worshiping the Shivalinga and tried to break the Shivalinga made by the king with a sword.
On doing this, Lord Shiva himself appeared from the Shivling, after which a fierce battle took place between the demon Bhima and Lord Shiva. In which the demon Bhima died, then all the gods prayed to Lord Shiva to sit forever in the form of Shivling at the same place.

Lord Shiva accepted the request and sat at the same place in the form of Shivling. The establishment of this Shivling was done by the deity Gana Puja Archana and Jalabhishek. Because of the battle with Bhima at this place, this Jyotirlinga was named Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga.
Why is Bhimashankar famous?
Bhimashankar Temple is considered highly famous for its architecture and mythological significance. There are many kunds around here which are known as Moksha Kund, Kusharanya Kund, Sarvatirth Kund, Gyan Kund. Of these, Moksha Kund is related to Maharishi Kaushik.
While talking about Kusharanya Kund, its origin is from the Bhima river. The specialty of these kunds is that by bathing in them salvation is attained. Even before the establishment of the Bhimashankar river, there was a well-known temple of Goddess Parvati here, which is popularly known as the Kamalja temple.

According to Shiva Purana, whoever worships here with true devotion after sunrise gets freedom from all his sins.
A large number of devotees throng this place during the month of Sawan. There is a river called Bhima river next to this temple.
Bhima had meditated on the Sahmadi mountain for 1000 years to please Lord Brahma.
It is believed that the Bhima Rathi river was formed from a drop of sweat that came out of Lord Shiva’s body after the fight between the demon Bhima and Lord Shiva.
Here rare species of wild flora and fauna are found around the hills.
There is also a Kamalja temple near this temple, which is considered very famous because Kamalja is the incarnation of Mother Parvati.
