First of all, when developing this laptop Intel collaborates with other major laptop brands such as Eluktronics to give us an overall first good impression.
Heat
This laptop is well designed when it comes to heat and heat management. Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut paste and MasterGel coolers allow the computer to run at optimal speeds without overheating – which is perfect for those of us who game often. The CPU runs at 80C degrees, while the GPU runs at 74C degrees – but don’t let that number fool you! The computers are operating at minimum voltage settings so users can decide whether they want a stronger or weaker performance based on what they need.
GPU
The Eluktronics MAG-15 has two separate graphical configurations – the first being an RTX 2070 with 8GBs of VRAM while the second includes a GTX 1660 Ti with 6GBs of VRAM. Both are great options for gamers looking for a high quality graphics card without breaking the bank.
Upgradeability
This laptop is very easy to upgrade. All you’ll need to do is take off the back panel which opens up an entirely new world of possibilities. There are two RAM slots that can hold up to 64 GBs each, if desired. It also comes with an already installed WiFi card for those who want a different one, along with two NVMe cards, and the battery (93 Wh).
Configuration & Performance
The powerful Eluktronics MAG-15 has an excellent 9th Generation Intel Core i7 Processor with 16GBs of RAM Memory and 512GBs SSD Storage. Multitasking is easy too, with models ranging from 8GB – 64GB Memory and 240-2TB Storage Capacity!
Touchpad
The touchpad in the MAG-15 comes equipped with Microsoft Precision TouchPad technology, which is quick and responsive. The pad also supports multiples gestures and scroll functions for even more freedom of movement.
Dimensions & Weight
.Known as the world’s lightest gaming laptop, it weighs just 4.15 pounds and is only 0.80 inches thick at its widest point. Its measurements are 14.03 x 9.19 x 0.80. For a mobile device that was made with games in mind, these specifications really make it stand out from other gaming laptops which always tend to be top heavy or cumbersome due to their size.
Design & Material
The light weight of this laptop is due to its materials. It is made from a blend of magnesium and plastic, unlike most laptops which are made of an aluminum base material. There’s only one blotch on the professional look though – the use of some slightly tacky looking plastics at the bottom of the device.
Battery Life
The MAG-15 is an excellent laptop for someone who needs a long battery life while gaming. According to Dave2D, it can last up to 7 hours on a single charge if it’s used regularly, which means you can game all day without having to worry about charging your device.
Ports
A generous amount of ports are available on this laptop, including three USB-A ports, Thunderbolt 3 port, SD card reader, audio jack, and HDMI port. Plus the power supply can be found at the back of the machine for easier access and so you don’t have to worry about wires getting in your way.
Display
Furthermore, the MAG-15 has a bright screen. The 15.6 inch full HD screen features 144 Hz IPS technology and covers 96% of the RGB spectrum while only reaching 73% of the sRGB color gamut. Furthermore, it manages up to 290 nits of brightness while still being fairly light weight at 2.1 pounds.
Webcam
The MAG-15 is fitted with an IR Webcam which supports Windows Hello and features two digital microphones. The webcam is located atop the machine while its bezels are thin.
Audio
The MAG-15 has wonderful Realtek HD audio speakers, but they’re situated in an inconvenient location for the user. They’re found at the bottom of the device, making them unsuitable for watching movies or TV shows because their sound can’t be heard properly from afar.
Keyboard
The laptop’s keyboard is definitely something you should get used to if you plan on using this machine a lot. It comes with a full size (N-Key Rollover) keyboard which is backlit with RGB lighting. Additionally, the key travel is only 2.0 mm – something to keep in mind when you’re typing away.
The keyboard’s design is acceptable with a well-functioning mechanism for each key. However, while typing without borders to aid you, accuracy is needed when clicking on each key so as not to hit other keys near by. Getting used to this may take some time, but overall it’s not too bad.
