Rocky Bhai has just arrived and already broken the records of numerous other movies this week due to its anticipation. With just 48 hours of advanced ticketing, Rocky had amassed a sum of Rs. 7 crores+ in India alone which is higher than that from past releases such as ‘Bell Bottom’ which received Rs. 2.75 crores + within two days or ‘Chandigarh Kise Aashiqui’ that gathered around Rs. 3.7 crores + during those two days too.
Even though ‘Antim’ had Salman Khan’s appearance extended, other recent releases such as Bell Bottom, Chandigarh Kise Aashiqui and SMJ2 – all starring popular actors like John Abraham (SMJ2) or Ayushmann Khurrana (‘Chandigarh Kise’) failed to impress audiences as Rocky Bhai did with its new concept unique among Hindi language releases lately.
Although KGF has seen competitions from industry titans such as Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Kumar before, there’s no stopping the film now. In fact, in just two days – February 1st and 2nd – ticket sales for the three starrer surpassed Rs. 12 Crore which is absolutely unheard of. But even before the movie was released, RK Films assured potential buyers that if they managed to sell more tickets than those sold for Ranviar Singh’s 83 movie then it would release a special audio album featuring singing superstar AR Rahman.
This act by RK Films not only won over hearts but also bought them up extra earnings. So far they have collected Rs. 37 crores according to digital distributors bookmyshow and Excel Entertainment who have gone ahead and termed them as ‘terrifying.’
