Today, the makers of Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer NBK107 announced the title of the film. The Shruti Haasan starrer has been titled Veer Simha Reddy and it will hit the big screens in Sankranti 2023. Interestingly, three other major releases have been scheduled for the same date which includes Mega 154 starring Chiranjeevi, Ravi Teja, Prabhas starrer Adipurush, and Thalapathy Vijay starrer Varisu. While these films would want to cash in on this holiday season – Southern cinema is about to witness one of its largest clashes with four superstars releasing simultaneously during Eid al-Adha next year – let’s wait and watch if this clash promises anything just like how Mahabharat did!
Coming to Veer Simha Reddy, the film features Nandamuri Balakrishna alongside Shruti Haasan. Initially referred to as NBK107, the project was produced by Mythri Movie Makers and is touted to be a large-scale action drama. In this movie Shruti Haasan plays the female protagonist who has lots of scenes shared with Duniya Vijay, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Chandrika Ravi – other members of its star-studded cast.
On the other hand, Mega154 is a yet-to-be titled. The film will bring together two big names in Telugu cinema. One of them being the megastar Chiranjeevi and the other being popular star Ravi Teja. Interestingly, this film too has Shruti Haasan playing the leading lady. It’s also touted to be an action drama featuring Chiranjeevi as a smuggler and Ravi as a cop; both stars are directed by filmmaker Bobby .
Speaking of Varisu, the film features superstar Thalapathy Vijay and debutant actress Rashmika Mandanna for the very first time. The Tamil-Telugu bilingual starring a massive ensemble cast also has actor Prabhu among others including Jayasudha, Sarathkumar, Khushbu, Srikanth and Shaam in it. Directed by award-winning director Vamshi Paidipally, this powerful love story takes off at a galloping pace while remaining believable throughout.
Talking about Adipurush, the film is a pan-Indian production boasting visual effects and tells an epic retelling of the story from Ramayana. Prabhas features as ‘Ram’ in this Om Raut directed movie whereas Kriti Sanon plays ‘Seeta’. Alongside are Saif Ali Khan who takes up the role of Lankeshwar or Raavan in this movie which is expected to release on January 12th 2023.
