After a phenomenal opening of RS. 32.67 crores on Day 1, Spiderman: No Way Home has continued its good run by maintaining the previous day’s performance by raking in the approximate range of RS. 23-25 crores on Day 2. The two-day gross now stands at RS. 55 to 57 crore; which is no less than a spectacular figure already achieved here. The movie is steadily headed towards doubling it during Week 1 through up to RS. 150 crore; and this too can very well be achieved as early as possible – that too without much fuss!
On Tuesday there was a drop of around 30% which comes off from a record-breaking Friday they had previously enjoyed; but still, this wasn’t unexpected given how popular the release was throughout all Southern states – especially Andhra Pradesh and Telangana where people are eagerly waiting for these local releases!
The movie has enjoyed astonishing success across the country-particularly in Maharashtra- with South leading from the front. With an extraordinary occupancy rate, this territory was hit hardest by 50% occupancy limit as there is major shortage of seats available when compared to number of viewers who want them. The film managed to lose Rs. 5 crores during its two day run in Maharashtra alone due to this reason alone where despite Sorryvanshi’s efforts, the figures for other Hindi films are abysmal in comparison-especially Spiderman whose lifetime earnings will surpass those made by all Indian films released so far within twelve hours on Saturday morning.
It may not be so hard however for Spider Man to enter into Rs. 200 crore club and become the first Indian film ever since Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (released in 2020)to do so but time will tell if it manages to earn enough revenue before passing that milestone.
