The Sky Is Pink has seen dismal results at the box office. On opening day, its performance was subpar yet somehow it held on to a slight glimmer of hope for a successful weekend; however, that was quickly extinguished with no noticeable improvement by Sunday. Tuesday saw things take an even greater turn for the worse with abysmal collections amounting to just Rs. 1.25 crores*. The outlook appears bleak for this film as prospects continue to dim further with every passing day.
Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar, two high–profile actors, lead this reasonably big movie. So far, it has garnered Rs. 13.25 crores in collections but won’t make much headway beyond Rs. 15 crores at the end of its first week’s run. This Shonali Bose helmed project might just be able to reach the peak of Rs. 20 crores as its lifetime total, an incredibly poor figure that does not justify its impressive cast lineup.
In 2019, many movies of various genres found success at the box office. However, the arrival of The Sky Is Pink seemed to derail the whole situation. Over the next few months, numerous films, both big–budget and art–house releases, are expected to make their debut. Here’s hoping that The Sky Is Pink will remain an anomaly and Bollywood will be able to provide audiences with a much better cinematic experience!
