The highly anticipated Karan Malhotra directorial, Shamshera, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, and Vaani Kapoor released in theaters one week ago. Unfortunately, the film, which had been expected to perform exceptionally well, has been struggling at the box office both domestically and internationally, as it received mostly negative reviews upon its release. Thus, the film has been having a hard time garnering the numbers it was hoping for.
Shamshera has managed to collect a sum of AED 2.067 million [Rs. 4.46 cr.] in the United Arab Emirates and Gulf Cooperation Council (U.A.E/G.C.C) over its initial week in theaters, but it has proved to be a struggle to persuade viewers to make the trip to watch the movie. Additionally, the tepid reception from the general public has further weakened the film’s overall box office performance.
As the days go by, it is unlikely that Shamshera will experience any more progress in its commercial success. Furthermore, the recently–released movie Ek Villain Returns, which features Ranbir Kapoor, does not seem to be significantly driving an increase in its revenue.
