Yesterday, Yash Raj Films’ widely discussed and eagerly awaited Shamshera finally hit the theatres. Boasting a star cast of Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, and Vaani Kapoor, helmed by Karan Malhotra, the film made a positive start. Shamshera was released on 4350 screens in India and generated a huge buzz with massive promotion in the pre-release period, foreseen to be a massive box office success.

Collecting Rs. 10.25 cr Shamshera has emerged as the seventh highest opening day grosser of 2022. Though leading the list are previous releases like KGF – Chapter 2, which collected Rs. 53.95 cr, RRR, which collected Rs. 20.07 cr, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which collected Rs. 14.11 cr, Bachchhan Paandey which collected Rs. 13.25 cr, Samrat Prithviraj which collected Rs. 10.7 cr, and Gangubai Kathiawadi which collected Rs. 10.50 cr the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Shamshera does manage to out beat other releases. In fact, Shamshera has outperformed other releases like Jugjugg Jeeyo which collected Rs. 9.28 cr, Heropanti 2 which collected Rs. 6.50 cr, and Radhe Shyam which had collected Rs. 4.44 cr.
Despite mixed reviews, Shamshera’s business at the box office continues to expand. According to current trends, its opening weekend is expected to generate a significant surge in its business. Trade predictions are optimistic and estimate that the film could amass around Rs. 50 crore by the conclusion of its opening weekend.
