Intel’s new 9th generation processors are vastly different from their predecessors. A given game will run at its best on an Intel i7-9700K and at its worst on an Intel i5-8400 (i7-8700K and Core i9-9900K). But you don’t need to worry about this when it comes to which type of processor you choose for your first build! An Intel i5-8450 would be a good choice because they’re cheaper but still offer great performance compared to the newer generations of CPUs.

The AMD Ryzen 3700X performs better than the AMD Ryzen 3600 in dual-core demanding games such as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, but the difference is small. However, for games that require more than two cores for full load performance – which are most new titles – the Ryzen 3700X does noticeably better, about 20%. However, for 1440p gaming using graphics cards like an RTX 2080 Super or 5700 XT, this difference isn’t worth much because it won’t be able to fully use its power.

The 3600 is cheaper than the 3700X which makes it a suitable alternative for budget gamers. But, given its slower speed and limited compatibility I’d still recommend the 3700X over the 3600 if you are looking for something with higher performance but without spending too much money.

The R5 3600 has six cores, 12 threads, and a clock speed of 3.6GHz while the R7 3700X has eight cores, 16 threads, and an increased clock speed of 3.6GHz.

In IPC testing using 1080p resolutions, we found that the difference in performance between both the Intel Core i9 9900K and AMD Ryzen 7 3700X was only 1-2 frames per second, which is barely noticeable.

Once you take quality equipment like the RTX 2080 Ti and make sure they’re compatible with good computer systems – it’s hard to find a difference in performance. It doesn’t matter what CPU model you have when gaming as long as your graphics card can maintain fast frame rates.

Operating Temperatures

If you’re willing to replace the default cooler for an aftermarket one, then the Ryzen 5 3600X might be worth looking at. It costs more than its counterpart, which may be a hard pill to swallow depending on your budget – but it has higher clocking potential and can achieve similar performance when overclocked.

Although we tested how many gigahertz we could get from both processors when overclocked, we found that our 3600X was only able to hit 4.3GHz before crashing. The AMD Ryzen 7 3700x has a substantially higher operating temperature and energy usage than the Ryzen 7 3600X. If you were considering purchasing the Ryzen 7 3600X, don’t make this purchase unless you plan on overclocking it since the 3700x is exactly the same price. The Ryzen 7 3600X should be cheaper than the Ryzen 7 3700x making it one of the best deals for gamers out there in my opinion.

Budget

Intel’s newest 12-core CPU is up against the 6-core AMD Ryzen 5. But Intel has an answer to this as well – they will also be releasing a new 16-core CPU at around the same price that would match the AMD processor.

If you’re looking for something that performs really well at an affordable price, the Ryzen 7 3700X is your best bet. It also comes with a cooler – a nice little feature when it seems like there are fewer and fewer CPUs nowadays that come with one.

Gaming Benchmarks And 3DMark Tests Reveal

Both Intel and AMD CPUs are good if you want an excellent single-threaded performance for gaming or tasks which do not require multiple cores at once.

AMD’s Ryzen 3 3600 CPU is one of five new Zen 2 7nm processors, which means you will need at least 16GB of RAM on a gaming PC; but 32GB would be preferable if you want to run many intensive programs and games at once. If your budget only permits 8GB, then that will do – but know that it won’t allow you to manage heavy multitasks or run demanding games in the future. The extra power given to the Ryzen 7 3700X’s processor has the downside of being a much higher power consumption of 65 watts, where the TDP of the lower priced model is significantly lower at only 35 watts. If gaming performance is your goal, then take a look at the Ryzen 5 3600X which has reduced RAM latency and a lower price point than its counterpart.

Should You Buy Ryzen 5 3600 or Ryzen 7 3700x

If you’re deciding whether or not to go with one of these two processors – a AMD Ryzen 7 2700x vs an AMD Ryzen 7 3700x – the latter will give you the same features and abilities at half the cost of its competitor.

If you are not going to overclock and just need it for now, the 3600 will do just fine; but if you are looking for more cores without needing top-of-the-line performance, then the 3700x is perfect.

The Ryzen 7 3700X is a great CPU; however, it lacks value. Compared to the 6c 12t Welsh and Sandy Bridge generations’ prices, it doesn’t provide much of an edge for its pricing. In order to gain back ground on competitors for future upgrades, there should be price reductions on all other R7 CPUs so they’re equal with the Ryzne 5 3600’s pricing.
