The blockbuster release of Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma’s Roohi was met with excellent reviews from viewers and critics alike. After the lock down that ensued during this time period – it did manage to perform rather well at the box-office. On its first day it drew in 3.06 crores, but some locations were unable to open up for business because they were gripped by panic or tight government restrictions following the pandemic outbreak.
Roohi, which was shown in almost every major cinema theatre – collected Rs. 18.5 Crores from this alone. Interesting enough; PVR was leading the charge with Rs 85 Lakhs coming from them while INOX and Cinepolis contributed Rs 60 Lakhs and Rs 35 Lakhs respectively. Currently, it seems like business is going well for the movie considering the collection so far. Surprisingly, the upcoming week-end would ensure that the movie earns enough money to make up for its first weekend’s worth of earnings
