There have been many different versions of the classic folk hero and the lore surrounding him. But, none are as bold or new as the 2018 action-adventure movie simply titled ‘Robin Hood’. The film was directed by Otto Bathurst and follows a story about how Robin grows up learning right from wrong at an early age, under the tutelage of his mentor John.

While having watched how Robin learned to steal from the Sherriff of Nottingham, we were also able to see that upon release, Robin Hood was met with harsh critique by those who claimed that this movie wasted its cast and producers. However, what seemed to be the most damaging aspect for this film was when it made a relatively little amount at the box office compared to its production budget which led people to say that Robin Hood had failed financially – which is quite true.
Considering the director stated that a sequel would be considered based on the critical and commercial success of the film, it is unlikely for ‘Robin Hood 2’ to ever exist. However, if there were to be another installment – this one would have an opportunity to make up for its mistakes and express its point to those who criticized it earlier. Robin Hood 2 Release Date: When Can It Premiere?
Robin Hood was first announced in 2015 and released in 2018. Naturally, a sequel would not take as long since it has already been established what most of the cast looks like; and even if they were cautious about continuing this franchise after Robyn Hood flopped, it still won’t be too difficult for them to start filming again due to how set up everything is.
After having lost money, we can assume that they will want to create a better narrative for themselves – one that would reflect their earnings and likely change the fate of the ‘Robin Hood’ movies. It is only reasonable then, to expect that there won’t be another movie until 2022 or 2023 at the earliest; if it gets greenlit again at all.
