In India, there is an annual celebration in January called Pongal. It is traditionally celebrated during the months of April-May due to the fact that at this time rice will be planted after being cultivated from winter crops and may still not be ready for harvesting during January. However, due to regional climate variations; it is sometimes also celebrated during December -January or June-July across certain regions within India. This festival symbolizes plenty with good luck, prosperity, happiness etc.; which makes gifting essential for many Indians on this day so that they too can partake in this goodness spread all around them!
