It was no surprise when last week, Ayan Mukherji’s Brahmastra finally released. One of the most anticipated movies of this year, people all over eagerly awaited its debut. With Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt playing lead roles alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy – there were high standards set for it to live up to. And indeed it did! On opening day, audiences flooded theaters in droves; some seeing it twice just so they could watch the spectacle again.
To date, Brahmastra has been performing very well at the North American box office. Due to the film being released in nearly every theater possible, and in almost every language imaginable (in addition to IMAX 3D), the movie earned an impressive $4.36 million [Rs. 34.60 cr.] during its opening weekend alone. While it may seem that there are many other films competing for attention, due to having such a wide release, there are few movies anywhere near as successful as this one right now; which means it should continue to thrive throughout theaters everywhere with little-to-no worry of going downhill anytime soon. According to trade analysts’ estimates, Brahmastra is expected to do very well within its first week despite only recently releasing just last Friday – so we all have nothing but high expectations for this film!
