KGF – Chapter 2 is breaking records at the theaters, as this movie’s earnings are upsetting all other Hollywood films competing against it. The latest estimate shows that the film earns anywhere between Rs. 11.25 – 11.75 crore rupees on its third day weekend. At first glance, KGF-2’s 18-day revenue currently stands at around Rs. 371+crore rupees and might surpass the revenue of Aamir Khan’s Dangal which was previously the highest grossing Bollywood movie ever made with revenues over rupees 387 crores rupees (at present).
KGF-2 is loved in India and will outshine any competition for tickets starting from tomorrow onwards when most single screens throughout India change their showcase to make way for this blockbuster hit making way for an even larger total record summing up towards tomorrow evening when we celebrate Eid holiday celebrations together.
Collections from Monday for KGF 2 were about Rs. 3.25 crores, but given the significance of Tuesday being Eid, one can only imagine what Tuesday’s numbers will look like when factoring in attendance from the local Muslim population that couldn’t watch earlier because they’re observing Ramazan. If Dangal was able to perform as expected and maintained its momentum up until now, then it’ll probably end up somewhere close to $400 million by the time KGF 2 wraps up its theatrical run.
It’ll be an astonishing achievement if this becomes true since both of these are outside of India; with KGF 2 itself being a Telugu language film dubbed into Hindi rather than the other way around where most Bollywood films do this (in other words: these two movies have changed how we perceive regional Indian cinema).
