KGFT chapter two was released a few months ago. In these few short months, the film has amassed so much hype and success that it was bound to sell out. A little past $100 million, over $200 million and now just past $300 million – in such a short period of time too! This makes me feel proud because not only are we showcasing Indian cinema’s talent but making strides in terms of overseas recognition as well!
Now at number five for top movies all-time after surpassed Terminator Genisys($441million), Jurassic World ($402million), Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($390million) and Black Panther ($371million). At the time of this article being written, KGFT 2 is right up there with Avatar($760million), Titanic($659million)and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (most recent theatrical release, $775million). And rightly so because soon enough it will surpass Avatar’s total domestic gross!!!
Going forward, KGF – Chapter 2 which has dominated the box office despite new releases, will now face a challenge in the form of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Trade predictions remain optimistic claiming that even though there is stiff competition from other films released this year, the Yash starrer will still continue to thrive at theatres until people stop going.
