Since its release 4 weeks ago, the Yash starring KGF -Chapter 2 has seen sustained success. This Indian film currently has 5000 showings at theaters and still remains highly popular among audiences. Today marks 5 consecutive weeks this movie was out in theaters throughout Europe and Asia, while also holding its own against other recently released films (although they never reached its magnitude). Already past 1200 crores worldwide in revenue after just this fifth week of screenings, this is proving to be one of the most profitable Indian movies yet!
In today’s box office report, we look at the worldwide collections of KGF – Chapter 2 while comparing it to previous releases. Not surprisingly, KGF2 which captivated the audience has managed to make a whopping Rs. 1200 cr. With this, the film now ranks as the third all-time highest worldwide grosser, following behind previous releases like Dangal which collected Rs. 1968.03 cr and Baahubali: The Conclusion which collected Rs. 1500 cr (INR).
Though the business of KGF2 doesn’t surpass these two films, it has managed to outrank other similar movies such as RRR which made an approximate collection of Rs 1132 cr; Bajrangi Bhaijaan earned about Rs 918.18 cr; and Secret Superstar was able to collect approximately Rs 875.78 cr among many others (in INR).
Currently, KGF – Chapter 2 continues to find an audience with theaters continuing to show the film despite a slew of new releases. Based off current trends, industry experts predict that this movie will also continue doing well for five more weeks running and there may be another increase in revenue when it reaches its sixth week. But all that remains is whether or not this movie can outperform Baahubali 2 once it finishes out at the end of its run.
