Yash starred in the movie KGF – Chapter 2, which earned rave reviews in both international and domestic markets. The premiere for this highly anticipated film started off strong by earning approximately $50 million dollars on it’s first day of release domestically, showing rapid improvement from it’s opening weekend. Not only did this action-packed thriller exceed $100 million dollars but also hit past $200 million after only two weekends out of theaters. What’s even crazier is that KGF -Chapter 2 has made around 40% of it’s projected revenue domestically within just 12 days! Earning another roughly 60$ million dollars so far and counting, this blockbuster does not show signs of slowing down anytime soon!
After looking into its first week’s worth of business, it is safe to say that KGF – Chapter 2 has outdone all other films released up until this point with Rs. 343.13 cr earned. In fact, the profit made by KGF 2 have managed to overshadow films like Sanju (Rs 342.53cr), PK (Rs 340.8cr), Tiger Zinda Hai (Rs 339.16cr), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 320.34cr), War (Rs 317.91cr), Padmaavat (30215 cr) and Sultan (30045).
The collections for KGF 2 are not quite up to the levels of Baahubali 2- The Conclusion or Dangal. However, this movie still has potential and will probably take over the number two spot once it achieves its full potential.
Estimates show that even though there are other films coming out – namely Runway 34 and Heropanti 2 – KGF- Chapter 2 will still see great success due to the upcoming Eid. In fact, according to early estimates, it has been shown that because of the grandiose popularity during this time of year, its collections will increase even more than before and may exceed overall earnings from Dangal soon enough.
