The Kashmir Files, having just been released a few weeks ago, has proven to be unstoppable at the box or office. Against all odds – including being part of what seems like an unpopular genre and releasing during a season where people are starting to see less movies – the business for this film did not slow down one bit. In fact, it actually took off faster than expected when it first started making waves in theaters across Delhi. Despite The Kashmir Files’ position against competition from Bachchhan Paandey, it continues to hold strong when it comes to ticket sales…
In this box office report, we take a look at the second-weekend collections of The Kashmir Files while comparing it to other recent releases. Collecting Rs. 70.15 cr on its second weekend, The Kashmir Files beat out the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju that collected Rs. 63.15 cr and was able to become the third highest all-time second week grosser; besides these films, the business of The Kashmir Files also surpassed those of other less successful releases like Tiger Zinda Hai which gathered Rs. 48.71 cr or Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior that generated rs 45.54 crore only.
On the other hand, this second week of screenings for The Kashmir Files has not managed to surpass the collections of films like Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion and Dangal which both netted Rs. 80.75 cr and Rs. 73.70 cr respectively (even though they have been out for at least two weeks). Trade experts are predicting that this film will continue to bring in audiences even after it has been out for a full week with expectations of it going past the 200cr mark; however, only time will tell if these predictions come true or otherwise.
