When the first previews started for Amitabh Bachchan and Nagraj Manjule’s Jhund, people began to talk about it at length. As if it were happening before the pandemic took over – high profile movies had celebrity and media screenings where news would travel far and wide on social media through coverage. So, it wasn’t surprising when some big names supported the film just from what they had seen in previews alone.
Although this is unlikely to happen, many people hope it does. Reviews for this movie so far have been mostly positive, and most of them range from just okay to pretty good. Some people are even calling Jhund out already as being bad or average- saying that you shouldn’t watch it; but there are also some reviews who were very pleased with how everything turned out. Overall- the film pulled in 1.5 crore rupees at the box office on its first day, and one wonders if history will repeat itself – especially considering Amitabh Bachchan’s stake in this movie (it was his third release since shooting resumed).
There was also a terrible storm the day before yesterday that messed up the opening day earnings- but everyone involved is optimistic because they’re just counting down until when maybe things will turn around in favor of Mr. Bachchan and show him off again in all his glory!
