For any game lover, the thought of playing games at the highest resolutions with all settings turned up to max sounds like a dream come true. The experience of gaming on 2K or even 4K resolution is something only achievable by those who can afford it – and everyone should feel privileged enough to be able to do so without fail. However, such power-hungry requirements require an equally powerful graphics card – which means you’ll either need an Nvidia GTX 1080Ti GPU or AMD Vega 64 GPU if you want all the bells and whistles enabled across your favorite titles. Sure they’re expensive cards but they’re worth every penny: just look at how quickly everything loads thanks to these amazing pieces of hardware!

4K screens have dropped in price and GPUs have caught up enough to handle resolutions of this magnitude; which is why 4K gaming has become mainstream. Nvidia GTX 1080 is an excellent competitor when it comes to playing games at these levels of quality – players will be able to enjoy gameplay with high graphical settings while achieving a smooth frame rate of 60 FPS. However, some recently released games may cause trouble for this graphics card, such as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and so on; requiring the player to adjust their visual settings just slightly so they can reach a stable and smoother frame rate.

These cards provide seamless gaming performance at high settings with GTX 1080 Ti. If you’re not much of an FPS gamer who favors graphics quality over performance then you may want to consider buying the GTX 1080 instead. Otherwise, if you’re looking for maximum visuals without having to upgrade your GPU for a few years, go with the GTX 1080 Ti.

On another note, if you’re thinking of going for the 1080Ti already then don’t forget to check out our deep review of the best GTX1080Ti models you can buy right now.

    GTX 1080

The 1080 is the newest addition to NVIDIA’s family of GPUs designed specifically for the serious gamer. It has been released as an upgrade to their previous flagship graphics card, which was none other than the 980ti. With 2560 CUDA cores and 8 GBs of memory there is no doubt that this graphics card will be able to handle anything you throw at it. Not only does it hold up well against its competitors but with these specifications you can bet you’ll never feel left behind or disappointed when you invest in this new graphics card from NVIDIA!

This Graphics Card from NVIDIA is excellent for playing most of the latest AAA titles at either 1080p or 1440p; however, it falls short when matched with a 4k monitor. To simplify this answer – yes and no. The GTX 1080 can easily manage 60 fps in all higher graphics setting as long as you are using 1440p or 1080p monitors but when played on a 4k monitor, gamers may experience graphical glitches, frame lag and even whole 10-20 frame periods where nothing happens during gameplay. Though what it lacks in rendering power for 4k HD games, the GTX1080 makes up for its smooth performance ability – at least for now. With many game developers making improvements such that they run smoothly on PC platforms without hefty upgrades necessary such as new GPUs, we expect to see similar level performance levels reached between resolutions because there will be less need for more powerful hardware setups required when jumping screens.

    GTX 1080 Ti

With NVIDIA GPUs dominating the world of computer hardware it’s natural that they would eventually release one based off the original NVIDIA GTX 1080 with some added bonuses. What do these add-ons mean for the average gamer? Exactly what it says on the tin – more power than ever before! Instead of turning away from its specialty (4K gaming) NVIDIA maintained its focus and created a faster GPU capable of running many modern games, including those coming out now, all at 4K resolutions and respectable framerates while barely requiring any texture sacrifices. It runs all older games just as well with even greater results in framerate/resolution allowing a seamless transition between older and newer titles to suit your needs when switching genres.

With such an increased performance from the GTX 1080, NVIDIA upped the ante this time and introduced a Titan worthy GPU to their lineup in order to satisfy every single enthusiast gamer out there. This new flagship did not seem any different than its predecessor either when you take a look at it but only after reading up on its details do you realize that there were lots of subtle improvements which were carefully hidden away by NVIDIA.

For example, the GTX 1080 Ti has been a huge upgrade over the old GTX 1080 in virtually every way. It outperforms its predecessor by far and offers specs that are simply incredible. Yet, at what cost? Even though the card is less expensive now than when it first came out- this graphics card still retails for quite a high price even in 2019- which means that anyone looking to buy one has to be sure they’re willing to spend some serious cash on something so powerful!

    Conclusion

From what we’ve concluded, both these Graphics Cards are insanely good, even in today’s day and age. Both seem to be high-end cards from NVIDIA – but the GTX 1080 won’t perform well under heavy loads while playing at 4k resolutions–and this may show in some games, too. What it does best is allow for light gaming on 4k screens–though as long as you’re running something @1440p or lower this card will make anything look good without compromising performance too much. It doesn’t matter which one you get though; they’re both great investments–the higher model being marginally better when it comes to picking between graphics cards that offer good support for very little price (while sacrificing heavy gaming). But if you want the ultimate experience… To compete with other high end gamers around the world of AAA titles (it seems), then investing in a RTX 2080ti might make sense–but only insofar as making your PC actually worthy of such software optimization!
