Much-discussed Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam 2 premiered several months ago. Starring Akshaye Khanna, Tabu and Shreya Saran as well, the film had a successful start but then grew over time – reaching almost 4200 screens worldwide (including 3302 domestic screens and 858 international). The wide distribution helped attract audiences who may not have seen it originally due to lack of availability. After becoming available in most theaters around the country and amassing generally positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, Drishyam 2 has amassed profits north of $200 million globally.
Collecting an astonishing Rs. 171.31 crore domestically and a further Rs. 37.83 crore overseas, the total global revenue for Drishyam 2 now rests at around Rs. 209 crore- becoming one of India’s top five highest grossers ever! Furthermore, it has achieved this monumental feat in just ten days; making it the second fastest film to do so after KGF- Chapter 2 which did so in only five days! And if all this wasn’t enough already – it shares the title of being one of the two fastest films to cross Rs 200 crore globally with Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra, which also took ten days!
Currently, Drishyam 2 has been reigning over the box office for some time now. Even though it faces heavy competition from a new release named ‘Bhediya’, it is still loved by many people. As it stands right now, there are high chances that Drishyam 2 will increase its business when compared to last week and can even make more than Rs 250 crores at the end of its second week if things keep going well in this way.
