Thanks to these numbers and third ranking for opening day revenues, it becomes clear that the investment of Shahrukh Khan-Kajol starrer was worth it!
If that was not enough, Drishyam 2 has seen better first day collections than some other recent releases like, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which collected Rs. 14.11 cr, Bachchhan Paandey which collected Rs. 13.25 cr, Laal Singh Chaddha which collected Rs. 11.70 cr, Samrat Prithviraj which collected Rs. 10.70 cr, and Vikram Vedha which collected Rs. 10 crore – a mere $1 million short of breaking records for this genre of film- and all before it even premiered!
Currently, Drishyam 2 continues to break records and gather mass appeal, with positive reviews and high ratings from fans. The business of the film is set to increase even more in coming days based on these trends – it’s predicted to gross over Rs. 500 crores at the end of its first weekend (the day before this passage was written). With numbers like this, it doesn’t seem too far-fetched that Drishyam 2 will make history within just a few weeks.
