Roohi managed to defy all expectations, gathering money well at the box office. Collecting Rs. 3.06 crores on the first day wasn’t enough for the film though- it collected another Rs.3 crores+ on Saturday by collecting Rs.3.42 crores that day too! Many expected Roohi wouldn’t do so good after only earning 2.25 crores dollars on Friday due to negative reviews and backlash; but luckily for them, audiences are what really make a movie successful – which is why they put up an even better show this time around as people came out in droves just to watch this movie again on Saturday when there were less people going than Friday (also because of how bad it was before).
The Dinesh Vijan and Jio Studios movie has grossed Rs. 8.73 crore after a week of its release. Critics predicted this to be the film’s lifetime earnings, but trends indicate it will now make around 11-12 crores by Monday or Tuesday when accounting for four days of ticket sales. People used to flock to theaters over weekends even in pre-lockdown scenarios, but ticket sales have dipped during Mondays following an eight-month-long extension period (August 15th).
This can cause confusion as no one knows if people stopped coming or simply chose another movie instead – but what we do know is that Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma fans truly loved their latest blockbuster adventure which may change with what happens at the box office this upcoming Sunday!
