Blockbuster after blockbuster are showing up at theaters lately. The Kashmir Files kicked off everything; then RRR (Hindi), and now KGF – Chapter 2 (Hindi). First two were moderately successful while the last one is going to obliterate both of those numbers in the first week itself. It could even possibly enter the Rs. 300 Crore club before the end of this second weekend which will be amazing.
After Monday where it raked in an astounding 27 crores, increasing its total to 187 crores so far. Apart from boasting production values reminiscent of international standards, what really seems to have worked out for these movies so far has been that they turned out to be universally loved across all sections of audiences – irrespective if you went for pure cinema or mainstream masala entertainment, metropolises or small villages, upper class society was as interested as lower class society; everywhere it left people mesmerized!
For everyone who had been a part of the process of making this film, this was going to be one case study in itself; it would decide where Chapter 3 of KGF would end up. There was no doubt that it would set records for the biggest opening ever and break them into pieces too since we were talking about releasing it by 2024-25 – at which point market conditions may have changed or evolved beyond what they currently are now.
