Last week, KGF Chapter 2 premiered in theaters around the country. The film performed well and had viewers of all ages praising it for its innovation and creativity. On the premiere day alone, audiences spent an estimated Rs53.95 crores watching this movie; however, when viewing numbers were taken on a whole weekend – there were exponential changes seen in ticket sales by consumers who were excited about this new release. Today is Monday morning – traditionally known for an even larger decline in attendance at theaters – where people are purchasing tickets for shows scheduled later today.
Collecting an additional Rs. 25.57 crore on its fifth day – a near 50% drop in collections from the fourth day – saw Rs. 50.35 crores coming in total for only 5 days since its release, seeing KGF make it past the Rs. 200 crores mark after becoming one of the most anticipated films this year. Not surprisingly, KGF2 has now become one of the fastest movies to ever reach Rs.200 crores after such little time being released to audiences worldwide and emerging as both one of India’s biggest blockbusters yet and one of Karnataka’s biggest cinematic successes.
With KGF – Chapter 2 grossing over Rs. 200 crore after just 3 days (Rs. 219 crore) it has beaten other successful movies such as Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion, Sanju, Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai, Hrithik Roshan – Tiger Shroff starrer War which had grossed more than 200 crores after 7-8 days of its release and Aamir Khan’s Dangal that grossed over 200 crores in 8 days.
Going Forward, Trade Predicts that if KGF- Chapter 2 Maintains its Current Momentum the Business of the Film can Reach Rs.300 crores by the End of its First Week. If this isn’t Enough, the Massive 10000 Worldwide Screen Count is Working Magic for the Film at the Global Box Office, Propelling KGF2 to New Heights.
