Ram Charan – Jr. NTR starrer RRR directed by SS Rajamouli did extraordinarily well; proving itself as one of the top performing movies this year so far. Opening big, this Telugu blockbuster successfully garnered business and attention with each passing day; easily fending off other competing films during the process due to immense popularity amongst viewers in India and abroad (especially in North America). With excellent storytelling from both writer KV Vijendra Prasad and director S.S. Rajamouli – now, weeks after its release, RRR has managed to cross the Rs. 1 billion mark at the worldwide box office.
Collecting an eye-popping Rs. 880.4 crores gross from the domestic market and a modest but still admirable Rs 203.6 crores gross from international locations, director SS Rajamouli breaks his own previous record by scoring over $1084 million in revenue for movie RRR (Raajakumaraa). The film surpassed Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion in terms of earnings which made it one of only two films to reach this milestone—the other being Baahubalis.
Going even further, with KGF-Chapter 2 dominating screens in both the domestic and overseas markets; the business for RRR had seen a noticeable decline. Despite this, the film continues to make some revenue from select locations around India who are playing it. Currently though, these numbers do not seem to have an adverse effect on how much money is being made so far by the movie.
