It is KGF – Chapter 2 (Hindi) all the way as the film runs amok and collects more than double of any other film currently in theaters. Friday saw 11.56 crores come pouring in from cinemas, plus 13.58 crores from Thursday receipts! And now Jersey has also debuted which took up a reasonable amount of screens this time around. However, it still does about twice what Jersey or RRR (Hindi) can put out- which means this powerhouse will be absolutely ruling throughout the entire weekend!
In fact, the collection will probably triple those of other films on Saturday since the collection should grow considerably after this point onwards. Considering its a set amount for today, it will easily surpass the RS. 300 crore mark by tomorrow morning itself- all because it is currently standing at Rs. 280.19 crores and there won’t be any obstacles blocking its progress from now onwards.
Meanwhile, Jersey was expecting just around Rs. 4 crores although the prediction was closer to Rs. 6 crores – anything less than that would have been unacceptable given the credentials and merits associated with this movie. It seems like they’ll need to wait until tomorrow before they’re able to see an increase in income because the film has not been performing well during evening and nighttime shows thus far. Let’s hope that changes soon so Shahid Kapoor can end up having a much needed weekend where he earns at least Rs. 18-20 crores.*
