The Kartik Aaryan – Kiarad Advani starred Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 hit the screens two weeks ago. Directed by Anees Bazmee and Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani, this film was well-received from the start of its release. Topping the Bollywood Box Office for the first time in four years, it maintained a steady pace at Rs 50 crore from Friday to Sunday. During week 2’s run too; it has managed to maintain a steady pace at Rs 100 crore.
In this Box Office Report, we examine the collecting rates for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 when compared to other films released in 2022. Collecting Rs. 49.70 cr in its second week, it has become the fourth highest second-week collector, just behind movies like The Kashmir Files which collected Rs. 110.03 cr or KGF – Chapter 2 which only managed to collect Rs. 80.18 crores or RRR which was able to net over 76 crores during the same time frame.
Interesting, the Kartik Aaryan – Kiara Advani starrer ranks as the second-highest second week grosser among Hindi-only Bollywood releases. It seems to me that if that wasn’t enough for you – then Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 being able to surpass previous release from other movies such as Gangubai Kathiawadi collecting Rs. 36.33 cr, Runway 34 which collected Rs. 7cr, Badhaai Do which collected Rs. 6.74 cr, Jhund which collected Rs. 4cr, and Attack – Part 1 which had collected Rs.1 95cr will do it for you.
As of now, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 continues to run in theatres, with trade predicting a few more crores being added to its total. However, the business of the film is certain to see a drop in collections over its third weekend with three new releases viz. Samrat Prithviraj, Major and Vikram – Hitlist releasing today. Despite this pessimistic outlook from traders however, who are making these claims about how 3rd week ticket sales for Bhool Bhulaiyaa will bring it closer to just Rs 150 crore nett instead of 1.5cr nett mark where it currently stands at 141 cr nett; other optimists are still confident that the movie may increase even further and make it all up during its 3rd week lifetime run.(141 CR Net).
