Last week, two major Bollywood movies were released – the real-life tale of Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Runway 34’ and Tiger Shroff’s latest action thriller with Tara Sutaria titled ‘Heropanti 2’. However, it was unclear who would be able to dominate at the box office; even though one film has already been ruling for over a month now. After a whole week’s worth of ticket sales for both films, it seems that both movies have held steady without much change.
In this cinema report, we compare the earnings of movies while looking at different geographical territories in order to find out which one was leading. Surprisingly enough, Mumbai emerged as the most successful area because it made up a huge chunk of these two movies’ total profits. Followed by Delhi-UP and East Punjab, respectively, who came after Mumbai – but only just so by comparison.
Surprising everyone even more is when Runway 34 leads in cinemas where there are multiplexes with Tiger Shroff’s movie Heropanti 2 coming second place. In places where there aren’t any cinemas (single screens), Heropanti 2 takes first place over Runway 34 due to its content being easier for people without education or money to relate too. With both movies still going strong and making about 22 crore each – one just might eventually overtake the other – taking over its spot until finally one of them conquers everything else; leaving nothing standing.
