Recently released, the Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam 2 has been met with much success thus far. This sequel to the 2015 hit Drishyam also features Akshaye Khanna, Tabu and Shreya Saran. After being reviewed positively by both critics and audience members alike, this film can still be seen growing in number through continued patronage. Even though it had some competition from the new release Bhediya last week-end, it seems to be doing well overall for itself.
This time we take a look at the second week collections for Drishyam 2 and compare them to last year’s highest release by Bollywood directors. With total earnings of Rs. 17.32 crores from its second weekend, Drishyam 2 holds the position of being the third-highest non-dubbed Hindi film in India. However when it comes to films overall, this Indian movie emerges out as the fourth most successful one after it manages to surpass other movies such as Kashmir Files which earned Rs. 26.20 crore, KGF – Chapter 2 which earned Rss 22 68 crore and finally Rajjo Rani which has brought back home earnings of only Rs 20 50 crore. The numbers suggest how well these two films did since they were able to shatter some other national records.
Currently, Drishyam 2 continues to enjoy the audience’s favour despite the new release Bhediya hitting the screens. Going by the current trend, trade predictions state that Drishyam 2 will continue its steady march at the box office over its second week. In fact, it will come as no surprise if the overall business of this film eventually draws closer to Rs. 170 crores (a few million dollars) by the end of its second week.
