As we eagerly await the latest film from Yash, his newest release, KGF- Chapter 2 has hit the theaters. Across all sectors of society it seems that this sequel to the widely successful first installment is stealing hearts yet again – even being called India’s best movie. With many producers vying for rights after its premiere screening; it seems that now everyone who wants to see this movie can do so on opening night, with 10,000+ screens across all regions playing it simultaneously. One day at the box office shows an impressive Rs. 155cr gross earnings and counting!
At the end of Day One, the KGF sequel had collected Rs. 138 cr. from its domestic viewership alone; this coupled with an additional overseas earnings of 26 cr., it had amassed Rs. 164 cr. gross at the box office worldwide up until then. By Saturday, it reached 152 cr.; 121 on Sunday; and 104 on Monday for a grand total of 400 crores (400 million rupees) after three days – nearly 30% higher than budgeted estimates.
As of now, KGF 2 has been doing well at the box office with no real competition. And we can predict it will continue this way seeing how there are already shows starting before six in the morning and additional ones after midnight. Trade predictions foresee a successful opening weekend for KGF2.
