Yet another week, yet another biggie. There have been a series of well-made films that were released over the last five weeks, starting with Gangubai Kathiawadi in February. The good run of Hindi films has been going quite well with RRR being the latest addition to the lot. Now the John Abraham starrer Attack – Part 1 is expected to take forward the momentum as it hit theaters this Friday.
The film began production in 2020 and thanks to John Abraham investing his own money as a producer; there was a lot at stake here. This SciFi movie has been made on a grand scale and budget and with action sequences reminiscent of Hollywood affairs which have tackled similar topics before– it should be an exciting time for Bollywood enthusiasts too! In fact, they’ve spared no expense when it comes to shooting these scenes so viewers can expect many top notch effects including some visually stunning shots teased throughout previous trailers and sneak peaks given over recent weeks.
As a result, there is greater visibility around the film. This has been enhanced even more in the fortnight since its release. A lot of work was done on the promotional and marketing fronts, which yielded impressive results. There is only one thing that this film now needs to do: excite viewers enough so they show up at theaters on its opening day. It may well have had an opening box office collection of Rs. 8-10 crores if it had released on a regular Friday instead of a holiday weekend but because it did release during Diwali – RRR (Hindi) will still be playing well in theaters during Attack – Part 1’s second week too. Considering all this information, a great opening box office collection for Attack – Part 1 would be Rs 5 crores.*
