SS Rajamouli’s period drama ‘RRR’ continues its successful streak at the box office as it has shown no significant decrease in collections, even on its second Friday when compared to Thursday. The movie took between Rs. 11.50 and 12.50 crores on Day 8 out of which the majority came from mass belt areas.
Multiplexes nationwide reported occupancy rates that were equal to those from 7th day of the film – a highly unusual occurrence for movies released during Diwali season where tickets are heavily inflated due to most people buying them for just one week – yet these patrons still had to pay more than usual for admission despite already having seen the movie last week.
RRR, who was known for being a clean hit, has done well enough to acquire the super hit tag. At Rs. 180 crore, this film had made enough revenue to offset costs in all major distribution centers of India – but it couldn’t quite reach the goal at Rs. 220 crore.
With an exceptional performance on its second Friday, however, RRR is on track to exceed expectations and surpass other films with similar qualifications at the box office during this time period – especially given that there are no other big-budget releases happening until December 18th. This movie also solidifies SS Rajamouli as one of India’s most popular directors and anticipates his future projects being nothing short of phenomenal hits!
