There hasn’t been a major Bollywood release that has grossed over Rs. 50 crores at the Box Office for nearly three years now. This most recent one took place in October of last year, when Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s war hit the theaters on Gandhi Jayanti- the national holiday, and made Rs. 53.35 crore rupees on its first day of release alone! Since then, not once have we seen anything surpassing this mark again; even though we’ve had some pretty popular releases like Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi – which made over Rs. 26 crore rupees on Diwali just last month (October).
Now that the year-long wait for KGF – Chapter 2 (Hindi) is about to end, cinema goers are eagerly anticipating an immense opening day on Thursday. An estimated amount of Rs. 40 crores is being predicted which would result in a total weekend gross of around 120 crores if predictions come true. It may not be as high as what was anticipated when the teaser trailer released last year but nonetheless this one certainly lives up to every single expectation.
In addition to just how good it looks, there’s also how hard the filmmakers worked and how successful they were with mounting their grand production while still delivering quality content. The audience has shown tremendous love towards Yash in all his films so far so much so that many people can’t seem to wait until tomorrow morning when they’re able to watch him perform on the big screen again for ‘KGF’.
