Yesterday after much talk and promotion, the KGF- Chapter 2 movie starring Yash released around 10000 screens worldwide. Expectations for business were high because of successful campaigns to promote it. Living up to those expectations, audiences flocked theaters across India on opening day – when KGF-Chapter 2 made a thunderous debut at the top of the box office charts with its first day collections nearing 54 crores (or $7.5 million). So far, reviews from critics are positive; but many other big budget Hindi movies like Baahubali 2: The Conclusion or Ra One are still trending and selling tickets for higher figures than what KGF-Chapter 2 achieved in its inaugural weekend.
As of now, KGF 2 continues to draw in people across the country. Theatre owners have even started hosting special show times at night with morning shows running as early as 6AM just so they can accommodate everyone! And it won’t be long before we find out if this latest addition earns more money than its predecessor. At present, it looks like the movie’s going to make more than R150 crore when all is said and done – within just one weekend too!
