Prashanth Neel-directed KGF – Chapter 2 starring Yash came out last week. Critics say it has been met with overwhelmingly positive reviews, while also managing to rake in a stunning Rs. 53.95 crores on its first day of release alone. Furthermore, it has seen continued success throughout its time at theaters – making an additional Rs. 46.79 crores over the course of only two days (excluding Sunday).
Despite heavy competition from other films and little to no competing cinemas, KGF2 had continued to outpace expectations. In fact, the closer it gets to New Year’s Eve—and even after operating for three days in theatres—the film managed to attract millions of viewers nationwide.
Reports indicate that advanced ticket sales for December 29th were at Rs. 18cr., making Sunday one of the most anticipated movie release dates ever! With all these factors considered, business for the film is projected to exceed Rs. 120cr. by week’s end; a feat only matched by superhero films such as Batman vs Superman and Avengers: Infinity War respectively.
