This can well be seen with the kind of collections that The Kashmir Files enjoyed on Sunday. Rs. 26.20 crores came for the film which is astonishing but not entirely surprising since that was aXlways on the cards. What would have been more surprising though had the numbers gone past the Rs. 30 crores milestones since that’s the kind of level play at which the Vivek Agnihotri directed film is operating at. Standing at Rs. 167.45 crores, the film will enter the Rs. 200 Crore Club inside the second week itself, and then it would start its ride towards the Rs. 300 crores mark, which is now there for the taking.
This is evident from the kind of collections that the film The Kashmir Files made on Sunday. Rs. 26.20 crores came for the movie, which is not only impressive but also unsurprising because it was all just a matter of time until this happened! It would have been more surprising if numbers went beyond Rs. 30 crores because that’s what this Vivek Agnihotri-directed movie has always operated on – pushing boundaries and surpassing milestones without fail! Standing at Rs. 167.45 crores, it will enter the Rs. 200 Crore Club within its first week itself, and then it will begin its ascent towards reaching the much coveted milestone of 300 crores!
With so much going on around them, Bachchhan Paandey suffered. Audience attention had long ago been taken away from his latest release due to it being overshadowed by the talk of The Kashmir Files (due to its controversial subject matter as well as its curiosity factor). This was evidenced in Sunday’s collections for Masala Movie- Rs. 12 crores – which could never compete with Saturday’s numbers of Rs. 12 crores for these reasons.
Now standing at Rs 37.25 crores – the movie is not living up to standards set by Akshay Kumar or Sajid Nadiawdal, who fought tooth and nail to make this movie a success- but they cannot dwell too long; they’ll need you all one day next week (the Monday) more than ever before!
