The Ayan Mukherjee directed Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, released last week on Friday. For a few days after the release, advance bookings were good while the film got screened at over 5000 theatres across India – starting off with an auspicious opening note. Breaking records even before it ends its debut weekend at theaters, this morning Indian entertainment portal BollywoodHindma announced that Brahmastra is one of the highest-grossing films in history for leading cinema theatre chain PVR Cinemas to date. And today – despite being only halfway through its first run – it has broken all pre-existing records for successful films this year so far!
As per reports, Brahmastra which has continued to enthrall the audience has been seeing immense bookings in theatres, with certain locations adding shows and screening the film round the clock to accommodate audience demand. Well, at the PVR cinemas chain of theatres, Brahmastra has taken things a notch higher and has recorded Rs. 9.92 cr. in collections on Day 3. This is the highest amount ever on a single day at PVR chain of cinemas as it beat War’s collection of Rs 8.85 crores during its first day along with KGF 2s success of collecting 9 lakh crore rupees during its opening ceremony.
With the film growing from strength to strength, it was expected that its success would see a meteoric rise over the days. Early estimates now claim that Brahmastra had collected Rs. 120.75 crores over its opening weekend and expectations were high for what this week could bring in as well given how successful it already is. With such trending success seen today’s predictions are predicting big things for how much this film will gross in the upcoming weeks since nothing seems to be stopping it right now.
