After releasing on Friday, the movie Chhichhore starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Shradha Kapoor has been doing well at theaters. Critical responses have ranged from average to positive; though audiences seem to be enjoying it. Critics have even said it reminded them of Nitesh Tiwari’s film Dangal which starred Amir Khan earlier this year. Though there was hardly any promotion before the release, those behind the movie are likely very happy with how things are going so far.
Considering that generally movies open strongest at first but then fall over time – statistics say otherwise for this one since collections saw an increase this past Monday than they did on Friday when they opened. There is also evidence suggesting that moviegoers are showing up early for screenings more now then what would normally happen–meaning people want to see this one as quickly as possible.
Not only was Chhichhore able to withstand an internet outage for six hours without losing any ground, it beat its own record when it comes to Khooni Monday. Just like Uri – the surgical strike, which experienced an increase in earnings after one day of release (Rs. 10.51 crores) than what it had achieved on release date (Rs. 8.2 crores), Chhichhore has now been able to match that success and accomplished two records in one week!
