All eyes were on KGF: Chapter 2 (Hindi), which won its place back atop the Bollywood industry. Although facing a minor setback when Hindilinks Entertainment’s Heropanti 2 and Ram Leela 34 released this past week, audiences didn’t miss out on the hype. Things got exciting once again starting Tuesday when they headed over to catch all new scenes after celebrating Eid al-Adha – accumulating box office collections upwards of Rs. 397.95 crore so far – earning them an impressive star rating and skyrocketing in profit without fail, as witnessed with other country counterparts like Baahubali series or Magadheera which earned nearly twice than their predecessors’ first installment respectively. As many eagerly await for Pushpa (Hindi) release date next year, film viewers can only hope that it will meet expectations just like its predecessor!
Meanwhile, both Heropanti 2 and Runway 34 haven’t done very well at the box office. Despite performing decently on Fridays, Heropanti 2 hasn’t been able to maintain these numbers through the rest of the week except for one day after Eid. It currently stands at approximately Rs. 26.50 crores*. Meanwhile, the first week of Runway 34 also followed this pattern as it’s currently sitting at around Rs. 25 crores*. After adding up all these figures together, both movies will end up below Rs. 30 crores* – which essentially means they’ll end up neck-to-neck when it comes to total revenues generated domestically over their lifetimes.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited.
Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources.
