Last week, Venom: Let There Been Carnage premiered and immediately picked up momentum. The movie features Tom Hardy as a superhero with an alter-ego named Venom, going head to head against his archenemy Cletus Kasady played by Woody Harrelson. Despite Maharashtra theater closures, the film made $12.05 million dollars over the course of one weekend alone.
On Thursday, the extended theater holiday for Venom: Let There Be Carnage tallied up Rs.2.95 cr on its opening day- then to add to that tally it had another Rs.3.20 cr from Friday, Rs.2.93 from Saturday and finally another 2.97 on Sunday totaling up at a whopping 12 crores! With this number, releasing in 4 languages (Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu) all over India – there are big expectations coming along with it too! Just imagine how many people can catch a glimpse of something they never thought they could…
And who knows how long it will take before Maharastra theaters reopen but when they do – expect business to keep going strong because unlike other movies out there who are only releasing in one language or region – this movie has an unfair advantage considering it is releasing over 4 languages/regions globally so right off the bat.
