After opening with a phenomenal Rs. 27.50 crores on Friday, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness had a successful Saturday as well. Rs. 26 crores* more were added to this day which is very promising for such an event film- normally they make around Rs. 40 crores* on the first day via advance bookings and it settles down from there onwards.*
What really brought this situation into clear relief was the fact that opening day collections for RRR in Hindi were Rs. 20.07 crores, and yet Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness managed to make more than that within two days. Meanwhile, even though it’s already made a half-century at the box office with Rs. 53.40 crores*, from here it is all about retaining its position while getting closer to its next big milestone – which would be passing Rs. 80 crores* before completion of its first weekend release run.*
Meanwhile, one film which is definitely doing well at the box office is KGF: Chapter 2. On Friday it accumulated Rs. 3.85 crores and on Saturday it continued to grow with an additional Rs. 5.75 crores*. This means that this Sunday its collection will likely surpass Rs 7 crores*. The current sum for the Yash starrer stands at 407.55 crores*, and if by the end of this weekend it reaches or exceeds 418 crores*, then everyone wins!
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
