After last week’s ‘Drishyam 2’ raked in Rs. 15.38 crores, this past Friday gave us yet another film which grossed a whopping Rs. 14 crore! With both these movies adding up over 10-crore rupees each for the past two weeks, theaters can only expect even more earnings! And with ‘Drishyam 2’ still running rampant at cinemas across India and ‘Bhediya’ set to debut on an already established base of success, we’re looking at another box office winning streak coming up in just one short weekend!
Let’s talk about the newly released film Bhediya for starters. It is big event cinema by all measurements and its excellent VFX, 3D release with an interesting storyline are some of the things pulling audiences to theaters. There is nothing small-scren about this film – so one could expect good footfalls on Day One of release when it came out. Moreover, since this film is catered towards a younger audience and ones who know Varun Dhawan, we could’ve also seen many turn out in droves on Friday even though that didn’t end up happening either (Day One). Right now there have been Rs.7.48 crores made – let’s hope for even higher numbers coming in over the weekend!
On the other side of things Drishyam2 is now a certain thing, and even the tiniest drop from Thursday [Rs.8.62 crores] to Friday [Rs.7.87 crores], it still seems small in comparison to what’s coming up next. A film only sees bigger drops on its second Friday when they’ve already done well enough for themselves during their first week; but as this Ajay Devgn starrer continues to impress audiences, there won’t be much decrease at all- which means we can confidently say it’ll reach at least Rs.30 crore at the end of its second weekend and go past Rs.55 crore in its two weeks– thus making it an absolutely profitable hit that became a big success quickly!
