With the release of Bachchhan Paandey, directed by Farhad Samji featuring Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandez, there was high anticipation. Despite all of this buildup, however, opening day was only moderately successful – with Rs. 12 crores on Saturday after a big drop from its opening day of Rs. 13.25 crores- now at Rs. 25.25 crores total for the first three days combined (as of Sunday).
Competition is fierce between Bachchhan Paandey and The Kashmir Files which are both doing well at the box office; so it seems that this movie might have mediocre success during Holi weekend because there’s already been an established audience for The Kashmir Files during these last few weeks’ time period given its outstanding performance thus far.
