The heavily-anticipated Hindi remake of the Bollywood smash hit, Bachchhan Paandey finally hits theaters this past Friday. Starring Akshay Kumar and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, it opened on a decent but not stellar note due to stiff competition from the previous week’s release.
As revealed by box-office reports, when examined alongside its opening weekend collections in comparison to Akshay Kumar and Sajid Nadiiwaala’s previous collaborations, Bachchan Paandee manages to rank as their fourth highest opener. Earnings at Rs. 37.25 cr go past Housefull that collected Rs. 29.80 cr., Kambakkht Ishq that followed with a total collection of Rs. 22.62cr., Heyy Babyy which clocked up earnings of Rs 15.17cr.,Jaan-e-mann (8.02) and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (7.29).
Although it was unable to breach the achievements seen with Houseful 3,2 and 4 – all three collecting over 50cr – housekeepers are set for a downward spiral once thought colliding with The Kashmir Files yet doing well enough itself –this is especially true if exhibiting soft signs on Monday because of favorable receptions across regions according to Delhi Times.
