With the delayed release of Bachchhan Paandey, it would seem that audiences would come out in droves for this Akshay Kumar starrer. Certainly not so- at least according to early reports from trade experts who claim this weekend’s The Kashmir Files may have deterred potential viewers from attending.
In this box office report, we take a look at the opening day collections of Bachchhan Paandey while comparing it to Akshay Kumar’s past releases. On Day 1 alone, it has collected Rs. 13.25 cr which make it his tenth highest opening day grosser. Despite all the hype and promotion, however, business for Bachchhan Paandey does not seem to beat out many of his other films such as Mission Mangal (Rs 29.16 cr), Sooryavanshi (26.29 cr), Gold (25.25) or Kesari (21.06) – despite being one of his newest release just last week!
As it stands right now there are some mixed reviews coming in but nonetheless it continues to run in theaters and earn money; whereas The Kashmir Files remains strong enough that they have definitely had an impact on its earnings so far but yet again traders predict that there will be an increase in profits during its weekend screenings.
