Ajay Devgn-Tabu starrer crime thriller Drishyam 2 is one of the most anticipated movies of this year. The upcoming sequel will jump ahead seven years after Vijay Salgoankar manages to escape from charges related to murder. The popularity of the first installment, as well as its trailer, has had an overall positive effect; evidenced by advance ticket sales in three major theater chains – PVR, Inox and Cinepolis – which are already at capacity for opening day.
With just one day left until the movie release, Drishyam 2 has been able to sell over 100 thousand tickets for its opening weekend at the national multi-plex chains. With PVR, Inox and Cinepolis selling 114,974 tickets total for this week long event this place is sure to be packed out! Tickets became available about a week ago but now people are starting to realize that they need to buy them because they’re sold out.
The ticket counter which was made available on Oct 2nd and 3rd before the premier started already helped increase some hype around these films so come Friday morning they would already have 58,598 ahead of them who bought their tickets early on in advance. There were also those last minute buyers who managed to snag 25,869 and 18335 respectively; so all together there’s going be an almost constant barrage of new faces coming through the doors each day this weekend with maybe even more than 100 thousand walking in or buying on spot too!
