कनक भवन मंदिर अयोध्या
मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम भगवान श्रीराम की नगरी अयोध्या को भारत ही नहीं सम्पूर्ण विश्व में बसे हिंदुओं के लिए पवित्रतम तीर्थ माना जाता है। पुण्यदायिनी सरयू नदी की गोद में स्थित अयोध्या में कई ऐसे मंदिर हैं जो भक्तों को भगवान राम और उनके रामराज्य की अनुभूति कराते हैं। अयोध्या के इन्हीं मंदिरों में से एक है ‘कनक भवन’ जो स्वर्णमयी सुंदरता से परिपूर्ण है। इस मंदिर की विशेषता है कि इसकी संरचना जो एक विशाल महल की तरह है। कहा जाता है कि यह मंदिर एक महल ही था जिसे महाराज दशरथ ने अपनी पत्नी रानी कैकेयी के कहने पर देवताओं के शिल्पकार विश्वकर्मा जी से बनवाया था।

त्रेता और द्वापर, दोनों युगों में सुशोभित रहा
माता सीता के साथ विवाह के बाद भगवान राम के मन में विचार आया कि मिथिला से महाराज जनक के वैभव को छोड़कर आने वाली सीता के लिए अयोध्या में भी एक दिव्य महल होना चाहिए। भगवान राम के मन में यह विचार आते ही अयोध्या में रानी कैकेयी के स्वप्न में एक स्वर्णिम महल दिखाई दिया। इसके बाद रानी कैकेयी ने महाराज दशरथ से अपने स्वप्न के अनुसार एक सुंदर महल बनवाने की इच्छा जाहिर की। रानी कैकेयी की इच्छा के बाद महाराज दशरथ ने देवशिल्पी विश्वकर्मा जी को बुलाकर रानी कैकेयी के कहे अनुसार एक सुंदर महल का निर्माण करवाया। जब माता सीता अयोध्या आईं तब रानी कैकेयी ने उन्हें यह महल मुँह दिखाई में दे दिया था।
अयोध्या कनक भवन
द्वापरयुग में भी श्रीकृष्ण अपनी पत्नी रुक्मिणी के साथ अयोध्या आए थे। अयोध्या दर्शन के दौरान जब श्रीकृष्ण कनक भवन पहुँचे तब वहाँ उन्होंने इस भवन की जर्जर हालत देखी। अपनी दिव्य दृष्टि से श्रीकृष्ण ने यह क्षणभर में जान लिया कि यह स्थान कनक भवन है और उन्होंने अपने योगबल से श्रीसीताराम की मूर्तियों को प्रकट कर उसी स्थान पर स्थापित किया।

अनेकों बार हो चुका है जीर्णोद्धार
कनक भवन प्रांगण में स्थापित शिलालेख में समय-समय पर इसके जीर्णोद्धार की जानकारियाँ वर्णित हैं। सबसे पहले श्रीराम के पुत्र कुश ने इस महल का जीर्णोद्धार करवाया और श्रीराम-माता सीता की अनुपम मूर्तियाँ स्थापित करवाईं। इसके बाद श्रीकृष्ण ने इस महल का पुनर्निर्माण कराया।
आधुनिक भारत के इतिहास में 2000 साल पहले चक्रवर्ती सम्राट महाराजा विक्रमादित्य और समुद्रगुप्त द्वारा भी कनक महल के जीर्णोद्धार की जानकारी मिलती है। वर्तमान में महल का जो स्वरूप है वह 1891 में ओरछा के राजा सवाई महेंद्र प्रताप सिंह की पत्नी महारानी वृषभानु का निर्मित कराया हुआ है।
मंदिर के गर्भगृह में भगवान राम, माता सीता, अनुजों लक्ष्मण, भरत और शत्रुघ्न सहित विराजमान हैं। भगवान राम और माता सीता ने स्वर्ण मुकुट पहन रखे हैं। मंदिर की विशेषता है कि यह मंदिर आज भी एक विशाल और अति सुंदर महल के समान प्रतीत होता है। मंदिर का विशाल आँगन इसकी सुंदरता को और भी बढ़ा देता है। मंदिर का एक-एक कोना वैभव और संपन्नता की कहानी कहता है।
श्रीराम-जानकी के महल में विचरण की मान्यता
आज भी साधु-संत और श्रीराम के अनन्य भक्त यह विश्वास करते हैं कि महल में भगवान श्रीराम और माता सीता विचरण करते हैं। इसी विश्वास के कारण भगवान राम से जुड़ा यह मंदिर रामभक्तों के लिए विशेष महत्व रखता है। कहा जाता है कि मंदिर के प्रांगण में बैठे रहने पर किसी प्रकार की कोई चिंता मन में नहीं रह जाती है और व्यक्ति अपने सभी दुखों को भूलकर मात्र श्रीराम के चरणों में खो जाता है।

कैसे पहुँचे?
लखनऊ का अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डा सबसे निकटतम हवाई अड्डा है जो अयोध्या से 152 किलोमीटर दूर है। अयोध्या स्थित यह मंदिर गोरखपुर हवाई अड्डे से लगभग 158 किमी, प्रयागराज हवाई अड्डे से 172 किमी और वाराणसी हवाई अड्डे से 224 किमी दूर है। अयोध्या में भी अब एक बड़े एयरपोर्ट का निर्माण कराया जा रहा है जिसे मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम श्रीराम एयरपोर्ट के नाम से जाना जाएगा। अयोध्या जिला लगभग सभी महानगरों और शहरों से रेलमार्ग से जुड़ा हुआ है। अयोध्या रेल मार्ग द्वारा लखनऊ से 128 किमी, गोरखपुर से 171 किमी, प्रयागराज से 157 किमी एवं वाराणसी से 196 किमी की दूरी पर है।
इसके अलावा अयोध्या के लिए उत्तर प्रदेश परिवहन निगम की सेवा 24 घंटे उपलब्ध है और सभी छोटे-बड़े स्थानों से यहाँ पहुँचना बहुत आसान है। अयोध्या बस मार्ग द्वारा लखनऊ से 152 किमी, गोरखपुर से 158 किमी, प्रयागराज से 172 किमी एवं वाराणसी से 224 किमी की दूरी पर स्थित है।
Kanak Bhavan Temple Ayodhya
Ayodhya, the city of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shriram, is considered the holiest pilgrimage not only for Hindus living in India but all over the world. Graced in both Treta and Dwapar Yugas
After marriage with Mother Sita, Lord Rama thought that there should be a divine palace in Ayodhya for Sita, leaving the splendor of King Janak from Mithila. As soon as this thought came to Lord Rama’s mind, a golden palace appeared in the dream of Queen Kaikeyi in Ayodhya. After this, Queen Kaikeyi expressed her desire to Maharaja Dasaratha to build a beautiful palace according to her dream. Following the wish of Queen Kaikeyi, Maharaj Dashrath called Devshilpi Vishwakarma ji and got a beautiful palace built as per the request of Queen Kaikeyi. When Mother Sita came to Ayodhya, then Queen Kaikeyi gave her this palace in front of her face.
Ayodhya Kanak Bhavan
Even in Dwaparayuga, Shri Krishna came to Ayodhya with his wife Rukmini. When Shri Krishna reached Kanak Bhawan during his visit to Ayodhya, he saw the dilapidated condition of this building there. With his divine vision, Shri Krishna came to know in a moment that this place is Kanak Bhawan and by his yogic power, he manifested the idols of Sri Sitaram and installed them at the same place.

Has been renovated many times
In the inscription installed in the Kanak Bhawan courtyard, information about its renovation is described from time to time. First of all, Kush, the son of Shriram, got this palace renovated and installed unique idols of Shriram-Mata Sita. After this, Shri Krishna rebuilt this palace.
In the history of modern India, 2000 years ago, there is information about the restoration of Kanak Mahal by Chakravarti Emperor Maharaja Vikramaditya and Samudragupta. The present form of the palace was built in 1891 by Maharani Vrishabhanu, the wife of Raja Sawai Mahendra Pratap Singh of Orchha.
In the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, Lord Rama, Mother Sita, along with younger brothers Lakshmana, Bharata and Shatrughan are seated. Lord Rama and Mother Sita are wearing golden crowns. The specialty of the temple is that even today this temple looks like a huge and exquisite palace. The huge courtyard of the temple adds to its beauty even more. Each and every corner of the temple tells the story of splendor and opulence.
Recognition of wandering in the palace of Shriram-Janaki
Even today sages and devotees of Shriram believe that Lord Shriram and Mother Sita reside in the palace. Because of this belief, this temple associated with Lord Rama holds special significance for the devotees of Rama. It is said that sitting in the courtyard of the temple, no worries of any kind remain in the mind and the person forgets all his sorrows and simply gets lost at the feet of Shri Ram.

This temple located in Ayodhya is about 158 km from Gorakhpur airport, 172 km from Prayagraj airport and 224 km from Varanasi airport. A big airport is also being constructed in Ayodhya which will be known as Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram Airport. Ayodhya district is well connected by rail to almost all the metros and cities. Ayodhya is 128 km from Lucknow, 171 km from Gorakhpur, 157 km from Prayagraj and 196 km from Varanasi by rail.
Apart from this, the service of Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation is available 24 hours to Ayodhya and it is very easy to reach here from all small and big places. Ayodhya is located at a distance of 152 km from Lucknow, 158 km from Gorakhpur, 172 km from Prayagraj and 224 km from Varanasi by bus.
