One of the world’s most well-known car manufacturers is Jaguar Land Rover, who produces a number of lines including Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar and Range Rover Evoque. Commonly referred to as Velar or Evoque, these two models are shortened versions of what we know best as the classic Range Rover.

The existing system has always been confusing, though it is understandable considering Land Rover’s history. The first Land Rover was launched in 1948 as part of the now defunct Rover Company – this new version will be known simply as Land Rover. However, just four years later, Rover faced bankruptcy and had to combine with British Leyland (BL) to form the holding company Rover-Triumph. Yet soon after that merger, BL fell apart and was made publically owned. From here, Land Rover became its own separate entity again – finally free from any problems relating back to BL.

For a short time, British Leyland became Rover Group under the leadership of BMW. Their company was renamed back to Rover in 1988 before it went private for good and adopted the brand name Rover. In 1994, BMW sold British Leyland (as it had come to be known) to Ford, who also purchased Jaguar at that time. Ford then merged Land Rover and Jaguar- creating an entity called Jaguar Land Rovers Ltd – only ten years later when they were sold off again in 2008, this time to Tata Motors.

Range Rovers were initially just off-roading vehicles before they became the pricey four wheeled luxury goods we see today. Despite this, however, most Range Rovers are still extremely capable off-roaders.

Our Editorial Department prides themselves on being unbiased and transparent. This means, we are unbiased and unaffiliated with car manufacturers. And yes, this applies to every article you read from us; all editorials are written without exceptions regardless of if it’s ad driven or not.

    The Company Behind Land Rover

Started in 1948, this British company that manufactures the famous Land Rover has continued to grow steadily over time. After inspiration from World War II cars, they began producing more robust off-road vehicles for consumers all over the world looking for a reliable product built with careful attention given to every detail.

Throughout its existence, the company made what are considered icons of motoring history in the form of Series cars – I, II, IIA, IIB, and III – and the Defender in two-door and four-door variants. More recently they have branched out into new areas too with Freelander rebranded as LR2 in the second generation. But not only has this manufacturer manufactured automotive icons such as Range Rover or Land Rover; they also manufacture other prestigious makes under different names such as Range Rover Evoque or even Range Rover Velar for example.

The car manufacturer never ventured out on its own and belonged to larger corporations throughout its lifespan. At one time, it was under ownership of Leyland Corporation before being sold off by British Leyland in 1975. Afterwards, BMV and Ford briefly grabbed the opportunity for partnership until this company eventually became a subsidiary of Tata Motors.

Company Lineups: Range Rover And Land Rover

To clarify for customers what to expect from the company, Land Rover established two different brands – one for luxury and one for utilitarian purposes – so people could make informed decisions about which vehicle was best for them.

    Land Rovers
Land Rovers are built for practicality and adventure! They offer a third row of seats, so you never have to worry about where your friends will sit. You’ll always be able to find the perfect car out there with all sorts of different options to suit your needs. Some cars include high end cabin amenities such as leather seats and luxurious interiors that make traveling across bumpy terrain easy breezy! With plenty of options at a price point that suits everyone’s needs, Land Rovers may be just what you’re looking for.

These vehicles can take you wherever you want to go with ease. With a Terrain Response system, they include hill start assist, hill-descent control, and gradient acceleration control – all which make driving over uneven ground easy as pie. They also offer specific modules that let you overcome tough obstacles like thick mud or deep snow without even breaking a sweat!

    Range Rovers
Like Land Rover cars, but different in some ways, Range Rover vehicles are marketed for other types of people. These luxury cars often cost much more than regular ones because they’re aimed at wealthier individuals.

When it comes to price, the Range Rover has 3 different size ranges: small, medium and large. Not only are these cars built for off-roading but they also have an appealing look inside and out. Depending on what you’re looking for in a car will depend on how much you’ll spend – starting at around $40,000 dollars and going up to around $200,000 dollars.

All Range Rovers have the same Terrain Response System, meaning they can handle anything from rivers to mountains with relative ease. Put adaptive air suspension and durable tires on top of that, and this luxury ride is worth every penny.

    DISTINGUISHED EXTERIOR DESIGN

The succinct nature of the design is void of unnecessary details, resulting in an unrivaled elegance. This is the most desirable Range Rover created yet.

The Defender – this new addition to the Land Rover family is designed to be their toughest and most trustworthy off-road vehicle yet.

The Land Rover Discovery was originally designed to cross the world’s harshest terrain and handle everything along the way. Now available in Phoenix, Arizona, it seats up to seven people and will take you anywhere your adventurous heart desires.

Land Rover Discovery Sport -The Land Rover Discovery sport is a smaller size SUV, but still offers 5+2 seating which allows you to take your whole family on the ride with you.

Wondering which SUV to buy from Arrowhead? Give us a call and we’ll tell you everything you need to know about either car.

LAND ROVER VS. RANGE ROVER: STYLE & CHARACTER

Today, when it comes to deciding which new Land Rover or Range Rover to buy, it usually boils down to intuition for most people. For those who need some guidance before making such an expensive purchase decision, though, here are some important facts about each car

Land Rovers are known for their classic yet not overbearing SUV style. And while they may lack some of the pomp and flashiness associated with Range Rovers, they do start out at a reasonable price point.

Range Rover SUVs have always been luxury vehicles; just take for example the Range Rover Evoque and the Land Rover range found at the top of this list. Yet each vehicle has its own distinctive characteristics that make it unique from all others, whether it be on city streets or off-road terrain.

COMPARE LAND ROVER & RANGE ROVER SUVS AT LAND ROVER NORTH SCOTTSDALE

Now that you’ve learned about some of the differences between Land Rover and Range Rover SUVs, get approved for financing today and go shopping through our new Land Rovers and Range Rovers online. We look forward to fulfilling all your luxury car needs.

    Conclusion

When it comes to cars, just like clothing or any other object, it all depends on what you prefer. Both vehicles do well in off-road terrains but each has its own set of additional options and features. If we had to give an opinion though, it would come down to the way you want to use the car; afterall, they’re both equally good at doing what they were designed for.

Range Rovers are cheaper, can fit in more passengers, and, all in all, are well-suited for family road trips. If you start having problems with the vehicle, driving to the nearest auto shop will not be as costly as with Range Rovers. These luxury SUVs should mostly remain within city limits, where a sharp rock or animal would pose no threat to one’s wallet – unlike if one were out on a backcountry dirt road.
